Numbers 20
Moses, Aaron, and the elders of the Children of Israel didn't have to die in the wilderness. They spent 40 years on an 11-day journey because of their murmuring and complaining when all they had to do was make a choice. They could keep doing what they were doing, going through these cycles of rebellion against God, or choose to trust and follow God, wholly. Many of us want to live holy, but we don't understand to live holy you have to choose to give yourself wholly to God. (Romans 12:1-3) You'll hear me say it time and time again, "Life is all about choices, the ones you make and the ones you don't, and when you fail to make a choice, you've made a choice."
Amid the Garden of Eden, there was "the forbidden tree", the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. This tree was placed there to give man free will because love is a choice. God is looking for us to choose Him not out of obligation or force, but in response to His love so freely given to us through the death of Christ on the cross. You could complain about everything and anything going on in your life, but nothing will change unless you make a choice. Many desperately seek a physical move, be it a promotion, financial, marital, or personal breakthrough and God wants to do it for you, but it will require a spiritual move first. Choose for yourself THIS DAY who you will serve, and if God be God, then serve Him. But you gotta make A CHOICE!
